Analysis for the Assessment of Iconic Steel Structure- Connel Bridge, Scotland by Javier Lancho from Jacobs Glasgow Connel Bridge is an iconic riveted steel structure built in 1903 for rail traffic which currently carries the A828 over Loch Etive after a composite steel and concrete deck was installed in two phases, in 1957 and 1967. It comprises a complex geometry, non-standard cross sections and complex connections of the deck to the truss structure. Jacobs UK was commissioned in 2015 to carry out an assessment of the bridge live load capacity. This webinar will present the key Midas Civil features that were used for the project. This webinar will be informative for those engineers who have any interest in the use of day-to-day Midas Civil functionalities in order to address analysis models for bridges.
