Effective Inertia and Effective Depth Calculation Spreadsheet

The effective depth of the beam is the distance from the tension steel to the edge of the compression fiber.

Meaning if you have a 400 mm deep beam with T20 tension reinforcement and a cover of 40 mm the effective depth is 400 – 40 – 10 = 350.
